Public Schools Program is the first ever effort to bring telemedicine care to Arkansas’s rural School Based Health Centers (SBHC) by providing real-time on-the-spot care. This program began September 1, 2016 and is a four year grant funded through HRSA (Health Resource Service Administration) and is a partnership between the UAMS Institute for Digital Health and Innovation and the Arkansas Department of Education. The SBHCs included in the grant are Jasper Magazine Malvern and Lamar.
The Public Schools Program grant includes three programs:
- FunFIT,
- Behavioral Health,
- and Oral Health.
