CARE Workshop

Free 6 Session Caregiver Workshop

We are always accepting applications for CARE; however, the 2025 session is currently at full capacity. We will reach out to you when we begin enrolling for the 2026 workshop. In the meantime, please reach out to us if you have caregiving needs and we can connect you with our social workers.

Are you a caregiver for an adult living with a brain injury and experiencing treatment resistant symptoms? Would you like to learn more about managing caregiver stress and navigating challenges?

CARE provides instruction on research-backed strategies to improve the life of the caregiver and patient. Strategies will focus on improving thinking skills, managing emotional distress, supporting recovery, and linking families to important resources. Sessions are designed to include opportunity to practice strategies and give participants practical tools for daily life.

This program consists of 6 virtual bi-weekly sessions, each lasting 2.5 hours. The first session is required, but you can choose which of the remaining sessions you’d like to attend. Participation is completely free.

  • Psychiatric Symptoms
  • Impulsivity
  • Amotivation & Apathy
  • Amnesia
  • Aphasia
  • Agitation

When (10am to 12:30 pm on the following dates):

  • March 5, 2025 – Caregiver Wellness
  • March 26, 2025 – Amnesia & Severe Cognitive Impairment
  • April 16, 2025 – Aphasia & Communication
  • April 30, 2025 – Psychiatric Symptoms & Agitation
  • May 21, 2025 – Impulsivity
  • June 18, 2025 – Amotivation & Apathy

Requirements:

  • Must be a caregiver of an adult with a brain injury experiencing difficult to treat symptoms
  • Caregiver must be 18 or older, speak English, and have access to a stable internet connection
  • You will go through a brief screening process
