UAMS has the only virtual team of board-certified maternal-fetal medicine specialists and obstetric generalists in Arkansas who team with a nurse practitioner, diabetic educator, genetic counselor, sonographer, and pharmacist to provide comprehensive care for high-risk obstetric patients. This method of health care delivery creates access to patients and community-based providers across the state.
Telemedicine uses interactive, compressed video and audio teleconferencing technology to deliver medical care and/or services. Telemedicine enables patients, local physicians, and UAMS physicians to talk together and see each other, bringing subspecialty support directly to hometowns. For example, a patient’s ultrasound can be read in real-time.
The UAMS Institute for Digital Health & Innovation Call Center provides 24-hour support for physicians to consult with maternal-fetal medicine specialists regarding patient management issues.
You can reach the Call Center at 866-273-3835.
