HRSA/COVID-19 Workforce Frequently Asked Questions

When will I know whether the grant is funded and jobs are available?

  • The funding agency has delayed its funding decision until “mid-June.”  You will be contacted by email promptly after a funding decision is rendered, good or bad. 
  • If funding is secured, recruitment into employment will begin within the two weeks following.

What days or hours would I be required to work?

  • Estimated dates of part-time temporary employment with UAMS July 1- November 30, 2021.
  • Times of work will vary based on events planned.
  • You may participate with approximately 30 days of paid work during the project.

What is the pay rate?

  • You will be paid an hourly rate of $25.00-30.00/hour not to exceed an 8-hour day.

Will I receive training?

  • Most if not all job training will be provided virtually.
  • Training and education materials will be provided.
  • You will be compensated for your time during the training period.

What tools will I receive when working in the community?

  • Cellular phones or cellular tablets will be provided as necessary.
  • Identification badges or vests will be provided for safety purposes.
  • Using your cellular phone or the program-provided cellular device, you may connect to an interactive video and telephone nurse call center to answer any questions you encounter in the community that requires additional help.

Where will I be working?

  • Assignments will take place within the counties you are most. comfortable, as indicated in your survey responses.
  • Community events you already planned to attend may be part of your assignment and your time spent providing outreach will be reimbursed.
  • Assignments may include local school events, festivals, business-sponsored events, health fairs, with other vaccine events and activities as arranged.
  • Minimal out-of-town travel is expected.
  • Dependable transportation is required.

I am unsure of door-to-door canvassing in some areas.  Please tell me more about that activity.

  • Door-to-door canvassing will be organized with other community outreach workers from your area.
  • Local law enforcement will be informed of your presence in neighborhoods.
  • Badges or vests will be provided for authenticating identification purposes.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.

Do I need to be vaccinated?

  • Participants are expected to be fully vaccinated.
