Alex Escobar, MBA, CICP is the Executive Director of Business Operations for the UAMS Institute for Digital Health & Innovation (IDHI). Alex recently came “home” to enjoy the great outdoors of Arkansas after building years of national and international experience in process improvements across a variety of industries. He most recently served as Administrative Director at Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare in Memphis, where he led all budgetary and fiscal call center operations for six hospitals and associated urgent care centers, physician’s clinics, and minor medical facilities. His passion for serving others in need led him to UAMS, and specifically to the IDHI, based on his background in business technology. As the Executive Director of Business Operations, he oversees the administrative services, contracts, grants, education, and technology aspects of the IDHI. Always looking for new opportunities, Alex is planning outreach to different leaders, hospitals, and trauma centers throughout the state to see how IDHI can help them maximize what they are doing to ultimately provide better services and access to healthcare in their respective areas. His vision for IDHI is to help others around the state, country, and world by being a model of innovation for them to follow.
Alex received his Bachelor of Arts, International Business – Global Business from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, and his Master of Business Administration – Marketing from Saint Leo University in St. Leo, Florida. Always striving to grow and expand his knowledge base, he is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Information Technology – Business Intelligence and Analytics from Purdue University Global in Indianapolis, Indiana.
