Perinatal Outcomes Workgroup Education and Research (POWER)

POWER is a collaborative workgroup that identifies topics or areas of patient care that need improvement and then develops plans to implement those improvements. Currently, POWER is working to improve maternal and Neonatal outcomes by supporting maternal safety bundle implementation in all 39 delivering hospitals. Obstetrical Hemorrhage and Severe Hypertension in Pregnancy emergencies along with the Reduction of Peripartum Racial/Ethnic Disparities are current focus areas. As well as safety bundle work, POWER offers educational classes that support maternal and neonatal staff in the delivery of safe evidence-based patient care. See fact sheet HERE.
