Dr. Pro is a behavioral health services researcher with a focus on health disparities measurement. He received his Ph.D. in Community and Behavioral Health from the University of Iowa and completed his post-doctoral training in the Center for Health Equity Research at Northern Arizona University. Dr. Pro’s interest in strengthening healthcare systems in rural and remote areas took root during his three years serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Malawi. He later returned to Malawi to manage a clinical trial looking at strategies to improve HIV services for pregnant women in rural areas, in collaboration with the World Health Organization, the Canadian International Development Agency, and the Clinton Foundation.
