Maysam Rabbani joined RTEC in July 2021 as a postdoctoral fellow. He currently contributes to multiple ongoing research projects at RTEC, including measuring the impact of telehealth adoption on hospital financial performance with an emphasis on rural areas, estimating the willingness to pay for telehealth services, measuring the nationwide association between broadband capacity and telehealth utilization, and performing budget impact analysis on expanding broadband capacity.
Maysam has received a Ph.D. in health economics from the University of South Florida. Earlier, he earned an M.A. in economics, an M.Sc. in environmental economics, and a B.Sc. in industrial engineering. He has specialized in the industrial organization of healthcare markets. His long-term research agenda aims at identifying solutions and recommending policies to make healthcare systems more affordable, accessible, and effective.
