Saleema Karim received her Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, B.C., Master of Business Administration and Master of Health Administration from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia and doctorate in health services research with a minor in financial management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is currently an associate Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management, Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She teaches classes in healthcare financial management in the Master of Health Administration program at UAMS and the Executive Master of Business Administration program at the Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Her research interests focus on hospital financial performance, quality and access, disparities and reimbursement/payment systems. Currently, Dr. Karim will be leading the project titled “Association of Telehealth Technology and Financial Performance in Rural Hospitals.”
